Wion's blog

Good afternoon friends. I strongly believed that God created us for a purpose. To grow and take respondsibilities of all He had planed for each of us. He did not bring us into the World just for decorations, but rather to carry out plans that He destined for us.

I'll again, mention something here by this writer, which is very important, and it has to do with growth, by Bishop Gospel Frempong Osei-Tutu, Ph.D. And I quote: In elementary biology, we learn that a primary characteristic of living things is growth. Yes!  This law of life is growth. God made growth a critical ingredient of our existence. Growth is not only the law of life but also the wonder of life. Growth brings the best out of a living thing. Growth turns a fetus into a human being and a caterpillar into a butterfly. Growth also unleashes a person's potentials and abilities. Our stability depends on growth. Growth is always God's ideal or ultimate aim for us. He speaks to us about increase, add, multiply and abound. He has called us to an abundant life; He wants us to experience the fullness of His blessings and His grace. He wants us to grow.

Brothers and sisters, as we entered 2018, let us do everything we can in our strength and the Power of God Almighty to be mature. As brother Mike stated in his statement, lets us move foward with this gospel of Jesus Christ. While we're depending on God, I want you and I to know that we have to play our part. When we do what He expects us to do, then He'll come to help. Lets ask the Lord to teach us how to grow,  so that we'll engoy all of the bebefits He has for us.

While reading this morning, I thought of this great writer, Bishop Gospel Frempong Osei-Tutu, Ph.D. and I quote: I have discovered that after a person's salvation, the most important subject and pursuit is spiritual growth. Just as a baby is born with the potential to become an adult and become independent and productive, just as they have both creative and innovative abilities, so also is a person born of God. We have the potential to be filled with all the fullness of God and the potential to do what Christ did and even greater things then He did. However, the secret is in growth. When we grow, we develope and change. When we grow, we will become what He wants us to become and we will be able to do what God wants us to do.

It is very necessary for every Christian to grow Spiritually most especially when we as humans're becoming so wicked to the point that no one can imagine. I liked the way Bishop Gospel Frempong Osei-Tutu puts it, and I quote: Spiritual growth is necessary to each Christian. Just like a baby ought to grow into a productive adult capable of making valuable contribution to this world, so does every Christian need to grow to be productive in the Kingdom of God. If we desire to access God's blessings! We are Born Again with the nature of God, but it is our responsibility to develop this nature in us. Our potential to live, overcome, minister, pray, and win like Jesus is only actualized through Spiritual growth. When we grow Spiritually, we increase in our faith, love, patience, wisdom, power, knowledge, glory, and every virtue that Christ possesses.
Our God is so great and powerful, there is nothing in the whole wide World and Heaven that He can not do. The riches and everything else, belongs to Him. Why is it we that He loved so much, and died for, do not have what He made available to us?

And I liked what Bishop Gospel Frempong Osei-Tutu, Ph.D stated: Years ago, I was teaching a series on the subject "children of God" and I discovered in my studies the wealth of the inheritance available to us as God's children so I asked Him why are we not enjoying as much? The Lord said to me that the problem was immaturity. This created an obsession for me to grow and help others to grow.

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passes away, and the lust thereof: this is where, I want you and myself to be very careful, every other thing will pass away, but he that doeth the will of God abides forever" (1 John 2: 15-17).

Jesus says that the "world" chokes God's Word in our heart and hinders the Word from growing and producing fruit (Luke 8: 14).

The world's system is diametrically opposite to the system of the Kingdom of God and both do not co-exist. You can not love both at the same time. Make the Word of God central in your thinking and sufficient for faith and practice and you will continue to grow. Remember that as a man thinks in his heart so he is (proverbs 23: 7).

Your growth is consistent with how far you have moved from the world to the Word.

Here are some major impedements to our spiritual growth: laziness, the unhealthy association and worldliness.

God bless!!

It is important to discover the things that hinder our spiritual progress and deal with them.

Spiritual growth requires diligent effort, one of the basic hindrances would be laziness. We're called to: Labor in His Word- John 6:26-27, Labor in prayer- Colossians 4:12-13, Labor in faith- 1 Thessalonians 1:3, James 2:17.

This diligent effort helped the heroes of faith to inherit the promises of God. Hebrews 6:11-12 tells us to show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

and that we should not be lazy but rather be imitators of those who through faith and patience inherited the promises. There is no promise in the bible for a lazy person whether natural or spiritual except poverty.

Jesus called the lazy, "wicked and slothful and demanded that they toke the talent from him and give them to the diligent. This is contrary to what the world  believes. The world would take from the diligent that has and give it to the lazy that does not have. We call that sympathy but Jesus does not see it that way. In all labor, there is profit and Jesus is about productivity (Matthew 25:14-30).

"Be strong in the Lord believers [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides]" (Ephesians 6: 10).

No one wants to grow weak, and certainly, God does not want us to grow weak. The demands of the spiritual life and the battles involved require that we become strong. If we are going to be victorious in Christ, we have to grow strong as well. Spiritual strength is necessary for a child of God. God told Joshua three times to be strong and of a good caurage (Joshua 1:6-9).  Paul prayed and taught the New Testament believers to be strong.

"...That He would grant you, according to the riches of his glory,  to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man" (Ephesians 3: 16)

Jesus statement to Peter in Gethsemane, "Could you not watch with me one hour? Suggests that He expects us to pray for at least an hour everyday (Matth 26:40) The Apostles, encourages us to pray because prayer is one of the secrets or keys to spirituality and victory in Christ.Prayer strengthens our fellowship with God. Jesus was a man of prayer. prayer is one of the major disciplines of the early Christians. The book of Acts points out that the disciples devoted themselves to prayer. Prayer is proof of our dependence on God. (Chronicles 20: 1-15). Satan and sin cannot stand a praying person. In prayer, we receive power to bind the works of the devil and enforce God's will (Ephesians 6: 17-18, Matthew 12: 29, Matthew 16: 18-19). Prayer brings changes in our lives and enhances our destinies (Chronicles 4: 9-10). Prayer gives permission for God to intervene for us suspernaturally. It opened Peter's prison doors and opened the womb of Hannah (Acts 12: 1- 19, 1 Samuel 1: 9-20).

Good morning friends. I been home for sometime now, and I think it getting close to a year now, because of health. I have been watching lot of different programs on great preachers, powerful gospel musicians and the rest of it.

A week ago, I was watching 20 minutes praise and worship-Mt Zion Baptist Church, Hand clapping foot stomping 1 hour of Traditional music and Old songs  Medley. It was so powerful that I didn't want to stop. Born again children of God, what has happened to that Old time Pentecostal Power? We have the same power that those Old time preachers had that they were shaking the whole World. Every church they went to, the power of God was always moving. Let us ask the Lord to help us bring back that Old time Power!

I am saying this, because I have observed in many of the churches, Pastors and other leaders of congregations allow members to do anything the feel like, gave people key positions in the church who are not Spirit filled. There are areas, you can give members to be responsible for, even if they are not Spirit filled. But there are special positions that can not just be given out to anyone. Only those who are Spirit filled or the ones that are commited and seeking the face of the Lord. I want to also say that God is not for play. You can't jump up and say let my friends or family run this in the church, if the have the qualities that I mentioned early, then of couse, key responsibilities can be given to them in the church. We got to forget about not making people to feel bad or pleasing them. And lastly, these members should be preached to most times about their Spiritual growth or messages that will stire them up, so that the will not continued to be confortable with their sinful lives. Let us know that church is about enternal Life Hell! People play all the games, tricks and every other thing in the whole World and the are tired, and the come to God house, then the want to do the same thing. We are in the last days, therefore, we need leaders who will stand up for the truth, nothing but the truth!

God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship in Spirit and in truth. John 4:24
