Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passes away, and the lust thereof: this is where, I want you and myself to be very careful, every other thing will pass away, but he that doeth the will of God abides forever" (1 John 2: 15-17).

Jesus says that the "world" chokes God's Word in our heart and hinders the Word from growing and producing fruit (Luke 8: 14).

The world's system is diametrically opposite to the system of the Kingdom of God and both do not co-exist. You can not love both at the same time. Make the Word of God central in your thinking and sufficient for faith and practice and you will continue to grow. Remember that as a man thinks in his heart so he is (proverbs 23: 7).

Your growth is consistent with how far you have moved from the world to the Word.

Here are some major impedements to our spiritual growth: laziness, the unhealthy association and worldliness.

God bless!!

It is important to discover the things that hinder our spiritual progress and deal with them.

Spiritual growth requires diligent effort, one of the basic hindrances would be laziness. We're called to: Labor in His Word- John 6:26-27, Labor in prayer- Colossians 4:12-13, Labor in faith- 1 Thessalonians 1:3, James 2:17.

This diligent effort helped the heroes of faith to inherit the promises of God. Hebrews 6:11-12 tells us to show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

and that we should not be lazy but rather be imitators of those who through faith and patience inherited the promises. There is no promise in the bible for a lazy person whether natural or spiritual except poverty.

Jesus called the lazy, "wicked and slothful and demanded that they toke the talent from him and give them to the diligent. This is contrary to what the world  believes. The world would take from the diligent that has and give it to the lazy that does not have. We call that sympathy but Jesus does not see it that way. In all labor, there is profit and Jesus is about productivity (Matthew 25:14-30).

"Be strong in the Lord believers [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides]" (Ephesians 6: 10).

No one wants to grow weak, and certainly, God does not want us to grow weak. The demands of the spiritual life and the battles involved require that we become strong. If we are going to be victorious in Christ, we have to grow strong as well. Spiritual strength is necessary for a child of God. God told Joshua three times to be strong and of a good caurage (Joshua 1:6-9).  Paul prayed and taught the New Testament believers to be strong.

"...That He would grant you, according to the riches of his glory,  to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man" (Ephesians 3: 16)

Jesus statement to Peter in Gethsemane, "Could you not watch with me one hour? Suggests that He expects us to pray for at least an hour everyday (Matth 26:40) The Apostles, encourages us to pray because prayer is one of the secrets or keys to spirituality and victory in Christ.Prayer strengthens our fellowship with God. Jesus was a man of prayer. prayer is one of the major disciplines of the early Christians. The book of Acts points out that the disciples devoted themselves to prayer. Prayer is proof of our dependence on God. (Chronicles 20: 1-15). Satan and sin cannot stand a praying person. In prayer, we receive power to bind the works of the devil and enforce God's will (Ephesians 6: 17-18, Matthew 12: 29, Matthew 16: 18-19). Prayer brings changes in our lives and enhances our destinies (Chronicles 4: 9-10). Prayer gives permission for God to intervene for us suspernaturally. It opened Peter's prison doors and opened the womb of Hannah (Acts 12: 1- 19, 1 Samuel 1: 9-20).

Good morning friends. I been home for sometime now, and I think it getting close to a year now, because of health. I have been watching lot of different programs on great preachers, powerful gospel musicians and the rest of it.

A week ago, I was watching 20 minutes praise and worship-Mt Zion Baptist Church, Hand clapping foot stomping 1 hour of Traditional music and Old songs  Medley. It was so powerful that I didn't want to stop. Born again children of God, what has happened to that Old time Pentecostal Power? We have the same power that those Old time preachers had that they were shaking the whole World. Every church they went to, the power of God was always moving. Let us ask the Lord to help us bring back that Old time Power!

I am saying this, because I have observed in many of the churches, Pastors and other leaders of congregations allow members to do anything the feel like, gave people key positions in the church who are not Spirit filled. There are areas, you can give members to be responsible for, even if they are not Spirit filled. But there are special positions that can not just be given out to anyone. Only those who are Spirit filled or the ones that are commited and seeking the face of the Lord. I want to also say that God is not for play. You can't jump up and say let my friends or family run this in the church, if the have the qualities that I mentioned early, then of couse, key responsibilities can be given to them in the church. We got to forget about not making people to feel bad or pleasing them. And lastly, these members should be preached to most times about their Spiritual growth or messages that will stire them up, so that the will not continued to be confortable with their sinful lives. Let us know that church is about enternal Life Hell! People play all the games, tricks and every other thing in the whole World and the are tired, and the come to God house, then the want to do the same thing. We are in the last days, therefore, we need leaders who will stand up for the truth, nothing but the truth!

God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship in Spirit and in truth. John 4:24

Many people feel that they can live any kind of way, and still be a truth believer. Absolutely not.

Friends, let us not fool ourselves, because this God, is not like man. He knows all about you and I, our thoughts are all in His hands. He cuts off every branch in us that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit He trims clean so that it will even be more fruitful. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

John 15: 2, 4 & 5.

Good morning friends!

I just want to remind you and myself not to be slothful, but rather stand for what we believed.

Diligent effort helped the heroes of faith to inherit the promises of God. Hebrews 6: 11-12 tells us to show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: and that we should not be lazy but rather be imitators of those who through faith and patience inherited the promises. And I like the statement that was made by Bishop Gospel Osei-Tutu, and I quote: There is no promise in the bible for a lazy person whether natural or spiritual except poverty.

Jesus called the lazy, wicked and slothful and demanded that they took the talent from him and give them to the diligent. This is contrary to what the world believes. The world would take from the diligent that has and give it to the lazy that does not have. In all labor, there is profit and Jesus is about productivity (Matthew 25:14-30).

If we are bornagain, and spiritually grown or matured, let us get out there and win souls that are lost. One thing that will help you and I grow, is to see people experience what we have! For those of us who just got bornagain, we can begin by sharing our testimonies and urge people to come to Christ. I believe we will have lot of people turn their lives to Christ. And this will help us to develope, cause we have to be an example to them, and not only that, but we will need to study the Word of God, so as to answer questions they may have or explain things that they may not understand. And  doing that will help you and I greatly. When we are serious to win souls, the Lord will bless us and let His fresh anointing over our lives! The Holy Spirit was given to us so that we will become witnesses (Acts 1:4-8, Luke 24:47-49).
Let us learn to grow and stop been children who lack endurance. Pain is painful and no one enjoys it. However, children because of them not being strong and developed cannot deal with pain as the matured person does. That is why they cry more than the grown ups. Christians who lack endurance or longsuffering are not matured or well grown. We are called among other things to suffer for Christ and until you develope or grow up you will be offended at Him (Philippians 1:28-29).
