• The life of humility: another key to distinction.

The Bible describes humility as meekness, lowliness and absence of self. Col.3:12. It simply means being free from pride and arrogance. A humble is a peacemaker who need not to fight to be heard but comfortable with whom he is in Christ; a man who does nothing out of self ambition or vain conceit. Philip. 2:3.

Jesus Christ is our perfect example, He was elevated to the highest of place because of His Humility, even though being in very nature of God, He never considered Himself equal with God. Philip.2:5-11.
Paul is another example of humility. Inspite of the great gifts and understanding he had received, Paul saw himself as the 'least of the apostles' and the 'chief of sinners'. 1 Tim.1:15; 1 Corin. 15:9. Like Paul the truly humble will glory in the grace of God and in the cross, not in self righteousness. Phil.3:3-9.

Success and distinction in life can only come to those who are humble. Luke 1:51-52. Even if you don't achieve the results you hoped for, you have the joy, peace and pleasure of having acted in a godly manner. Humble people are always winners, even if in the eyes of men you do not 'win' but God is for ever pleased with the humble.

Are you proud and arrogant? Do you have a problem seeing anything good in other people apart from yourself? Are you boastful about your talent, gifts, understanding as if it was not given to you? Then success and distinction in life and in the life to come is far from you. But grace and forgiveness is available if you can turn to God NOW. 2 Chronic. 7:4

Prayer: ask God to forgive you and receive the grace to live a life of humility.

    GOD BLESS YOU.

Amen! A scripture comes to mind, James 4:6 "...Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
