Someone once asked in a Bible Study class for the secret of having a balanced life as a believer. I could easily relate with her concerns as a fellow professional in a busy and quite hectic city like Lagos. I also battle with the need to give sufficient attention to many competing aspects of my life like faith, family, studies, work just to mention a few. I believe the answer is in the scripture below. If we put GOD first, that is, make him our priority, other aspects of our lives will experience grace for seamless operation. We will also be in a position to produce outstanding results with the optimal application of our limited efforts. What do you think?

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. - Matthew 6:33

Amen! This scripture came across my mind 2 days ago!God indeed should be first and every other thing second!
This is easier said than done. Deliberate effort has to be made by the Believer to put God first and keep Him first. From the time I wake up to the time I go to bed, God first lifestyle should be my daily experience and God's righteousness.
The practical way to go about this is allowing the Word of God to dictate our daily conduct. Making time for prayer in sweet fellowship with God and Brethren, studying His Word and applying it, reaching out to help the needy and sharing the gospel in word and conduct are all part of the experience of one in whose live is God and His righteousness is first and remains first.

Pleasure! Another perspective to this scripture is: when a man is SEEKING for a thing, his THOUGHTS and ACTIONS are preoccupied and dictated by that which he SEEKS until he finds what he SEEKS!
When you commit to seeking for something that you need, you end up finding things you have lost or misplaced around your house.
In same vein, when a man commits to SEEK GOD FIRST, AND HIS KINGDOM AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, he automatically begins to find treasures and every other good things along his way because God has EVERYTHING!

So, it is our loss when we seek every other thing first and God and His Kingdom and righteousness second.
